Agafari Ethiopia Tours
Welcome to Agafari Ethiopia Tours! We are excited to guide you on your journey through Ethiopia. To ensure a clear understanding of our commitment to you and your responsibilities as a traveler, please take a moment to read our Terms & Conditions below.
By booking a trip with us, you agree to the following terms.
Booking & Payment Policies
Securing Your Booking: Your reservation is official once we receive a 30% non-refundable deposit. This deposit allows us to secure accommodations, transportation, and local arrangements on your behalf.
Final Payment: The remaining 70% balance is due 30 days prior to your tour’s start date.
Late Bookings: If you book your adventure within 30 days of departure, full payment is required at the time of booking.
Payment Methods & Currencies: We accept payments via international bank transfer or cash upon arrival. Cash payments are accepted in USD, EUR, or ETB, converted at official bank exchange rates on the day of payment.
Cancellations & Refunds
We understand that unexpected plans can arise. If you need to cancel your tour, please notify us in writing as soon as possible. Because we pre-pay hotels, local permits, and domestic transport, the following cancellation fees apply based on when we receive your notice:
45 Days or More Before Departure: You will receive a full refund of any balance paid, minus the 30% non-refundable deposit and any pre-purchased, non-refundable tickets.
30 to 44 Days Before Departure: A cancellation fee of 50% of the total tour price will apply.
15 to 29 Days Before Departure: A cancellation fee of 75% of the total tour price will apply.
14 Days or Less (or No-Show): Regrettably, no refunds can be provided for cancellations made within 14 days of travel or for missed departures.
Non-Refundable Expenses: Please note that domestic flight tickets, certain activity permits, and specific third-party services are strictly non-refundable once booked, as per third-party policies.
Changes & Flexibility
Itinerary Adjustments by Us: While we aim to follow scheduled itineraries closely, local conditions (such as road conditions or weather) may occasionally require route changes. We reserve the right to adapt itineraries to ensure your safety and comfort, and we will always provide equivalent accommodations and activities whenever possible.
Changes Requested by You: If you would like to make changes to your itinerary after your booking is confirmed, we will do our best to accommodate you. A $50 USD administrative fee per change request will apply, alongside any additional costs incurred from third-party suppliers.
Flights & Domestic Transportation
Independent Carriers: Domestic flights within Ethiopia are operated independently by Ethiopian Airlines.
Schedule Modifications & Delays: Agafari Ethiopia Tours is not liable for flight delays, reschedules, or cancellations made by the airline.
Our Assistance: Should airline disruptions occur, our team will actively assist you in rearranging your itinerary and logistics. Any additional expenses resulting from airline changes (such as extra night accommodations or alternative transit) remain the responsibility of the traveler.
Travel Insurance, Safety & Personal Risk
Mandatory Travel Insurance: For your protection, all travelers are required to hold comprehensive international travel insurance before joining our tours. Your policy must cover medical treatment, emergency medical evacuation, repatriation, and trip cancellation.
Understanding Local Risks: Traveling in remote or unique environments (such as the Danakil Depression or high-altitude regions) carries inherent natural and physical risks. By joining our tour, you acknowledge and accept these conditions.
Safety & Local Directives: Your safety is our highest priority. All travelers are required to follow the instructions provided by your Agafari tour leaders, local guides, and park scouts at all times.
Force Majeure & Limitation of Liability
Unforeseen Events: Agafari Ethiopia Tours cannot be held liable for failure to perform or delays in fulfilling tour obligations caused by Force Majeure events beyond our control. This includes, but is not limited to: natural disasters, extreme weather conditions, civil unrest, government actions or restrictions, and sudden border closures.
Liability Cap: In the unlikely event of a legal claim, our maximum liability to any client is strictly limited to the total amount paid by the client to Agafari Ethiopia Tours.
Governing Law
These Terms & Conditions are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia. Any disputes arising from or related to our services shall be settled exclusively in the competent courts of Addis Ababa, Ethiopia.
